AFCON2023: Super Eagles Gets Down to Work, Undergo First Training Under Floodlights in Abidjan

The Nigerian national football team, the Super Eagles, commenced another phase of their preparations for the highly anticipated Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), undertaking training under the night skies of Abidjan on Wednesday evening.



Under the guidance of Coach Jose Peseiro and his coaching staff, the Super Eagles began their training a few hours after landing in Abidjan via a direct flight from Lagos. The session was marked by high spirits and dedication as players engaged in drills and light stretches.



The Super Eagles' presence in Abidjan has garnered significant attention, with fans eagerly anticipating their performance in the upcoming AFCON. The team, known for its rich footballing history and passionate fanbase, aims to make a resounding statement in the tournament and vie for the prestigious AFCON title.


The three time champions will tackle Guinea Bissau, Ivory coast and Equatorial Guinea in group A, starting on Sunday, January 14th.
