Super Falcons American born footballer, Ifeoma Onumonu was impressive during her debut for AWCON qualifier by scoring a brace against Ivory Coast.
While speaking to journalists after the match, Ifeoma said it was an honour to score in her debut for Falcons and believe she has more to give. She hopes to play alongside Asisat, who is a top striker in the team.
"It’s just an honour to play for this team. I have been watching them for years and I have the dream to play for Super Falcons. To be able to make a debut was an amazing experience, not scoring one but two goals was amazing.
“I just want to make an impact in this team. I have so much more to give. I'm so excited to up my game, as you can see the job is not done yet, we still have one more to go and I am just focused on the next game.
“Obviously, we miss Asisat Oshoala. It is unfortunate that she is going to miss the game and not be with us. She is an excellent striker. I have seen her at Barcelona for years. I mean she is at the top level in her club. Being a striker myself, it is always a competition amongst teammates. We are not going to look at who scores, because at the end it is for the benefit of the team. Hopefully, I'm looking forward to playing with her”, She concluded.
