Katsina United FC, may have produced the first managerial casualty of the 2023/24 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, after the club's hierarchy advised it's Technical Adviser, Tony Bulus to step aside from his role.
In a letter dated November 13th, 2023, sighted by www.ckdmedia.ng and copied the Katsina State commissioner of Youth and Sports, Hon. Abdu Abu Dan Kum; Coach Tony Bulus was told that he is to be further investigated for the various breaches and infractions, leveled against him.
The letter, read in part; "...the management frowns at your technical ineptitude since the commencement of the ongoing football season, which is seriously affecting the [fortunes] of our club".
But it does appear the management of the Changi Boys as the club is also called, lost their cool after an incident that preceded their fixture at Abia Warriors, in Umuahia.
According to the same letter, the gaffer as head of the delegation made an unpardonable error of judgement, when ignoring several warnings, and insisted the team bus, with all the players and officials in it, departed the Abia State capital for the journey back to Katsina, not minding the grave danger of the IPOB Sit-at-home order.
Katsina United FC, who are currently 11th in the NPFL table with 11 points from eight games played, appointed Coach Bolus in September, as their new Technical Adviser, following the departure of Usman Abdallah on August 19, 2023; having helped the club win promotion back to the NPFL, after just one season in the Nigeria National League (NNL).
