PERMANENT SECRETARY, DANLADI, BOWS OUT IN GRAND STYLE AFTER 35 YEARS OF SERVICE

Handover Ceremony Marks End of Illustrious Career, Beginning of New Chapter.


The Nasarawa State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development bade a fond and emotional farewell to Permanent Secretary, Chief Barr. Isaac Danladi today, Friday, 4th October, 2024, as he formally handed over the reins to the most senior Director of the Organization, Mr. Lawrence Irimiya Shammah(Director of Sports Organizing), pending the posting of a substantive Permanent Secretary, after an impressive thirty-five years of dedicated service in the Nasarawa State Civil Service.


Danladi left an indelible footprint on the Ministry, with a career spanning over three decades.


Appointed by Governor Abdullahi Sule and inaugurated as Permanent Secretary on 13th May, 2023, Danladi resumed official duty at the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development on 20th June, 2023, and held the position until 4th October, 2024, which marked the end of his meritorious service to the State and humanity.


During his spell, he demonstrated exceptional leadership, vision, and commitment to Public Service, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues and stakeholders alike.


"As the proverbial saying goes, "Every journey that has a beginning must have an end. Today marks a significant milestone in my illustrious career in the Civil Service of Nasarawa State as it comes to an end after putting 35 years of meritorious and unbroken service to the State and humanity.


"As I bow out today, I look back with great pride and gratitude, having given my all to the service of our dear State and nation at large.


"I must have stepped on toes in the course of service, but I have no regrets, whatsoever, because nothing was done in animosity or antagonism as every action taken was in the interest of service", Barr. Danladi began.


He expressed appreciation to God and all those who supported his rising achievements.


"Glory be to God for His guidance, protection, sufficient blessings and excellent health and vitality throughout this chapter of my life.


"I also want to extend my deepest gratitude to my lovely family and close associates for their unending love and support.


"I especially and most sincerely appreciate His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, Executive Governor, Nasarawa State, for giving me the rare honour and privilege to serve the State in various capacities and also elevating me to the enviable rank of a Permanent Secretary.


"I deeply appreciate the good mentorship of the Deputy Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Agbadu Akabe. He is one of a kind.


"Additionally, I appreciate members of the State Executive Council, particularly my boss, the Honourable Commissioner, Hon. Jafaru Ango, for providing me with the best environment to work with him. I cherish the relationship.


"And to my colleagues in the Civil Service, especially my dear sister, my dear friend, and the performing Head of Service, Barr. Abigail Waya, I offer my heartfelt thank you because your professionalism and dedication played pivotal roles in amplifying the good image of the Nasarawa State Civil Service.


"I can't conclude without acknowledging and appreciating the Directors and Staff Members of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development. I had a chequered experience here in the Ministry. I saw the good, the bad, and the ugly, but i came out stronger.

"Today, I am leaving the Service a fulfilled man.

"I look forward to the next chapter of my life with great expectations," the outgone Permanent Secretary concluded.


At the handover ceremony held at the Board Room of the Ministry in Lafia, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Jafaru Ango praised the Permanent Secretary, Barr. Isaac Danladi, for his tireless efforts, saying, "Barr. Danladi has been an invaluable asset to this Ministry, Nasarawa State and Nigeria as a whole, and his contributions will be deeply missed.


"Though he may not be in the Civil Service again, we will always find our ways of meeting again because he still has a lot to offer the State and larger society.

"We wish you all the best in your future endeavours, especially as you pursue your political ambition."


Head of Service, Nasarawa State, Barr. Abigail Waya, who led Permanent Secretaries from other Ministries to the occasion paid tribute to Danladi's exemplary service, highlighting his kindness, wisdom, penchant for excellence and unflinching commitment to Nasarawa State and Nigeria in general.


"As Barr. Isaac Danladi embarks on this well-deserved retirement, he leaves behind an impressive legacy that will continue to inspire both the current and future generations of public servants.


"We wish him a happy, healthy, and fulfilling retirement, filled with joy, love, and the knowledge that his incredible contributions have made a lasting impact on our beloved State", stated the Head of Service.


In a symbolic gesture, Permanent Secretary, Danladi formally handed over the mantle to Mr. Lawrence Irimiya Shammah, who pledged to build upon Barr. Danladi's legacy.


It was the first time that a sitting Head of Service and Permanent Secretaries from sister Ministries would attend a handover and valedictory ceremony for a retiring Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development.


Other dignitaries who attended the ceremony include the Commissioner for Special Duties, Humanitarian Services and NGOs, Princess Dr. Margaret Elayo Itake; Alh. Garba Rosha(Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources); Mrs. Belinda Oyigbenu(Permanent Secretary, Establishment and Manpower Development); Idris Umar Idris(Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs, and Community Development); Isaac Edoh esq.(Solicitor General/ Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice); Khadijat Nuhu Oshafu(Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Trades, Industry and Investments); Mrs. Florence Bammwa Iyakwari(Permanent Secretary, Civil Service Commission); Mr. M.I Odeh(Mni), Permanent Secretary, Special Services, Office of the SSG; Abubakar Isah Maisudan(Permanent Secretary, Political, Office of the SSG, represented by the DAS); Dominic Iorfa(Former Executive Vice Chairman/CEO, Lobi Stars FC); Representatives of the Management of Nasarawa United FC; And representatives of Nasarawa State Football Association; Members of the Sports Writers' Association of Nigeria, SWAN, Nasarawa State Chapter, as well as journalists.


Presentation of an Award of Excellence by the leadership of the Sports Writers' Association of Nigeria, SWAN, Nasarawa State Chapter, and photographs formed parts of the highlights of the brief but memorable retirement ceremony.
