Speaking on his experience with the Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) side, Shehu emphasized his connection to the league and its development.

“We’re happy we’re here. We’re products of the league. We know the NPFL and its struggles," Shehu said, highlighting his pride in the league's management and its ongoing efforts to elevate the competition.

He also noted his hopes for the future of the NPFL: “We’re proud of the league management, and we hope they’d keep it till the end. We hope to entice more Super Eagles players to join the league whenever they want to refresh themselves."

Shehu and Ahmed Musa rejoined boyhood club, Kano Pillars for the new season and they’ve been instrumental in the club’s reformation since then.
