Taiwo Awoniyi Set to Join West Ham United

June, 16 2024.

English Premier League side West Ham United are on the verge of signing Nigerian center forward Taiwo Awoniyi from Nottingham Forest in a lucrative deal. The 27-year-old striker is being closely monitored by David Moyes' side and is seen as a valuable addition to the Hammers' squad.

In June 2022, Awoniyi joined Nottingham Forest on a five-year deal, with the club paying a record transfer fee of £17 million. His impact was immediate, and he quickly became a fan favorite. In August 2023, Awoniyi made history by becoming the first Forest player since Stan Collymore in 1995 to score in six consecutive Premier League matches.

Awoniyi's potential move to West Ham comes as the club looks to bolster its attacking options. The Nigerian forward's physicality, pace, and goal-scoring ability make him an attractive prospect for the Hammers, who are keen to improve their offensive firepower.

The deal, if finalized, would mark a significant move for Awoniyi, who has shown impressive form in the Premier League. West Ham fans will be eager to see how he can contribute to the team's ambitions in the upcoming season.
